Architectural Ornamentation is a term to describe the ornamental products we use to create fabulous ornamental environments. We use a variety of methods to achieve the looks we desire, based on customer requirements, budget, environmental issues and other concerns such as location and wear and tear. Our ornaments can be used indoors or out, and in a wide variety of uses, such as ceilings, walls, mantels, columns, themed environments such as home theaters and libraries.
Plaster
Plaster has been used in decoration and construction for centuries. It continues to be the product of choice for creating beautiful ornamentation. We have over 25 years of experience and been trained by the previous generation of artisans in this trade.
Epoxy
Sculpting epoxy is a versatile material that allows us to sculpt designs that are three dimensional and strong. It paints well and is useful in a variety of applications.

Composition
Composition has been around almost as long as plaster. This unique material is stamped in a mould, then steamed and applied to the substrate. It is both paintable and stainable and gives a richness of detail that is unequaled in beauty.
|
Wood
Wood is the backbone of construction, not only functional, but it is also very beautiful. We can design and create beautiful paneled rooms, mantels or furniture which can be adorned in opulent ornamentation.

Restoration
All across the land are buildings and homes that have been decorated in ornamentation. Unfortunately time, the elements and neglect take their toll on the spaces. We have many years of experience in historical restoration, and have been privileged to assist many clients and contractors in restoring wonderful spaces back to original grandeur. The following photographs document our involvement in the recent restoration of the Port Arthur National Bank in Port Arthur Texas.
The remaining parts of the ceiling medallion have been removed to be cleaned, patched and reassembled. Enrichments that remained on the ceiling were repaired in place and moulds were made in place of parts to repair or completely replace missing pieces or enrichments.
The model has been repaired, cleaned and reassembled. It receives several coats of shellac to prepare it for casting. Prior to the shellac coat, a blanket of clay was laid down and a case was cast on top of the model. This case will hold the rubber mould in its correct position once it has been poured.
Urethane rubber is cast into the case. Once it has cured the rubber mould can be removed and prepared for the casting of the replacement parts.
The two halves of the medallion are cast in mouding plaster and allowed to dry. The other enrichments are cast separately and attached during installation.
Each half of the medallion is installed to the ceiling. Plaster weld is painted onto the repaired plaster ceiling and wet plaster is applied to the back of the castings. Screws are then attached to the ceiling helping to further secure the medallion to the ceiling. Seams are filled and sanded, the remaining enrichments are added and the medallion is prepped for painting.
The medallion and the restored ceiling are then painted to match their original finish. The finished medallion is nine feet in length and five feet wide. The entire ceiling was more than forty feet long and twenty five feet wide.
